  1. I would like more ESOL class and computer class in Shadwell.
My computer teacher is a good teacher in sonali gardens

  2. Tomorrow I will attend the final session of the Tablet Taster course. It has been thoroughly worthwhile and I have learned a lot. More importantly it has given me confidence to go on trying to use a tablet and learn more. Linessa was excellent. It was most enjoyable. Thank you very much.

  3. All the District Line stations in Tower Hamlets have stairs. Apart from the new Whitechapel there are no lifts or escalators.

  4. The oprg meeting we held on the 23rd April 2018, a point was raised with regards to Disable not marked on disabled people bay. the meeting promised to take it on board.
I suggest that the council should consider such because the council are in charge of public affairs in any borough, for example the voter’s registration, the council tax, peace in the borough. Something like marking disable for the disabled people who are suffering in silence in any area in the borough should be considered compulsory.

  5. I believe it is important to have teachers to help organise ourselves in premises that are provided by local authority to help sort out with finance and with computer equipment to learn how to go about finding the right information.

  6. In the oprg last meeting on the 23rd April, a point was raised with regard to unmarked disable on a disabled person’s bay. It was accepted that it will be taken on board.
It will be a wise idea for the council to put it into consideration because the council of any borough is in charge of any public affair.
They are responsible to put something in order, for example voter’s registration, council tax, peace in the area, so something like not marking Disable on disabled person’s bay is a kind of not putting such group of people who are suffering in silence into consideration. I suggest that such should be made compulsory.

  7. Council parking policy generally is very vague. I’ve had difficulty getting deliveries arranged as areas set aside for this arn’t constant and general use areas get sidelined .

  8. Monday the 23 April our first meeting at the new venue which i found to be very nice. But i did not enjoy our meeting due to all the back ground noise. But i was still able to gain some information about the pay point charges. I will be looking forward to our next meeting.

    1. Hi Juliet

Yes I’m afraid we didn’t have any other venue for the last meeting and it was a bit difficult to hear what people were saying at times.

However, we are using a different venue for our meetings from June onwards which should be much better as we will have the room to ourselves.

I look forward to seeing you at the next meeting.

  9. My concern is about the Private Street that is under the control of Gateway Housing Association. My Car Parking Bay (Space) is not Marked Disabled. As a result of my disability, walking is very difficult for me. Sometime I will go to collect my medicine or prescription, which I would like to use, by the time I come back, another strange car will will park there and go away, sometimes for two or three days
or a week. And I will be so confused. May be I went to get one little thing from the shop by the time I come back another car is parked in my Bay and I will be sitting in the car waiting in anger and frustration.

    1. Thank you for your comment. Are there other members that have come across a similar problem? If so please get in touch. This could be a subject for discussion at a future OPRG meeting.

    2. Hi Helen

Have you spoken to your Housing Officer? He or she should be able to advice you on how to report the cars that are using your parking bay. These cars will be clamped and towed away if you report them.

Alternatively, you can call the Gateway Residents only phone number which is 020 8709 4300. You will need to take a note of the times the car (or cars) is parking in your space, the car registration number, the colour and make of the car and give the details to whoever you speak to.

      Hope this helps
